Trowell Fc 1 - 0 Sherwood Fc 8th March 08
Last time we met Trowell it was a close affair, it turned out today to be a carbon copy of that game, including the result.
It started out a sunny morning with a harsh wind blowing straight across the pitch.
But both teams were in high in spirits.
At kick off Sherwood were the first to make chances, forcing them back to defend a thing they have proved they are good at, by only conceding 3 goals to date.
A lot of running by both teams from midfield trying to carve out chances for the forwards.
Chances were made, lot in the first half from Sherwood as they pushed forward in search of goals. The whole team put in 100% today , Thomas and George were matching any counter attacks well at the back, and we had a fantastic performance from simeon in goal,Who kept popping up from behind his tall defenders to make some outstanding saves.
But it was Trowell who got the goal, a bit of a scramble with players running in on our keeper, as the ball the slipped out of reach from Simeon giving the Trowell player a simple tap in.
All Sherwood players today put an effort in not least harry.w in midfield desperate to add to last weeks goal tally, with Tom up front he running his socks off to try get that goal that today was eluding us.
We made changes at half time for fair play and still we could not break them down, I felt that the goal lead gave Trowell confidence as they began to force us back, but still it remained 1 - 0.
We had a few final chances at the end to level the match, but it did not happen.
Again today as we have done all season, proved that we are a worthy division two team and we can match anybody on the day
