Sherwood FC 5 v 3 Cotgrave Colts
A good start to life in the second tier. Finn opened the scoring, Buckly got
a hat-trick and we credited Tom with the fifth as it was his throw that was
deflected in. I know that Cotgrave felt that two of our goals should have been
disallowed for fouls on the keeper, but they were gracioius enough to say that
we were the better team. A great team performance today and I think all the
boys played for at least a half. Fine goalkeeping, great defending and plenty
of pressure from us throughout. Whatever others might insinuate we are not a
malicious team and I would rather lose than cheat. Man of the Match was Harry W
for an outstanding Captains performance in defence.
